FURTHER ON IN THE NEWS # 17 Febuary 2003

Jammin in the hills was a stageshow held in the mountains and valleys overlooking Jamaica’s 2nd city Montego Bay. Hosted by Buju Banton and comedian Cat Paw, the show was well attended as patrons trod the valleys to celebrate 2003.
Buju Banton displayed his array of talents by selecting Stonelove sound mixing down the artists and policing the show, by ensuring there was no bumrush and artists worked under one order.
The show kicked off with artists from the Gargamel label Spectacular, Steve Machete, Ronnie Thwaites and local favourites such as John Gotti.
The big artists segment started with Chuck Fender who blazed a small fire before calling on the singers like the ever ready Singing Melody, Thriller U, Angel Doolas, Anthony Cruz and the big veteran singer Courtney Melody.
Monster Shack Crew and Galaxy P worked together well before introducing Bling Dawg, Danny English & Eggnog, who bus the place with their hit tune on the Diwali riddim.
The show culminated in rare appearance by Tanya Stephens who performed in tandem with Buju.

STILL BLAZIN
The title for Capelton the prophet’s current album was another stageshow held in Montego Bay. The show featured Jah Mason, Chrisinti, Chuck fender, Lucan I, Warface & Fire Lion. Capelton gave Montegians a show to remember with a electric performance that lasted 75 minutes.
